We have met the enemy, and they are ours.
The war has begun. Every three hours they feed. Including prep, changing, eating, burping, and cleanup, each battle takes 1-1.5 hours for the two of them. That leaves about 1.5 hours in between to do dishes, laundry, eat and (quite rarely) sleep. You find your morale hinging on the smallest of victories: Carver takes a full feed in under 15 minutes; there are no traces of blood in Mazlo's stool (Even though he was discharged, his stomach irritation is there. Thankfully, it seems to be lessening.). And the minor setbacks are devastating. I can't believe we've only had them both home for 24 hours. This is why babies are so cute. They are evolutionarily designed to make parents want to go through this with them. And they are so, so cute.
Yours with great respect and esteem,
